I will dominate 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's bout.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual face-off, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
