La Petite Maison's Drink – How to Make It

We present an easy version of a drink featured on a new cocktail list. It's a party-sized prepared mix which is loaded full of flavours of a Christmas time, making it perfect for your festive gathering. Reserve the remaining syrup you can use for brunch beverages, sweets, or for more rounds of this cocktail.

The Bikini Cocktail

Yields 10 guests

For the Citrus Syrup (yields 750ml)

300ml newly squeezed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

To make the Cocktail (yields 850ml, to serve 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml London dry gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (see above)
A few cranberries, as a garnish
Mandarin essential oil, for finishing

Directions

For the Cordial: Place all the components into a saucepan, bring to a gentle boil, mixing until the sugar dissolves. After that, remove from the burner and let it to cool down entirely. Decant into an sealable bottle, seal and refrigerate it in the fridge, it will last for about one month.

To make Batch Mix: Mix the specified spirits and syrup in a big jug, leave to sit for one hour, then pass it through preferably using cheesecloth, so it's perfectly clear.

For serving: Pour 85ml from the cocktail base into a stirring glass filled with ice, and stir gently for one minute to cool it down. Filter into a frosted cocktail glass or equivalent, garnish with a few cranberries and complete it with a brief mist of mandarin oil over the drink.
